Woman to Woman: 12 Unwritten Rules in Relationships (Part 1) ❤️

We love the cute dates, the good morning texts, the random forehead kisses… but let’s also talk about the real work behind solid relationships.

Because when it’s you and your person against the world, you need more than vibes and matching hoodies — you need wisdom.

This is a collection of all the gems I’ve picked up over the years — from reading, from wise folks who’ve been in long, beautiful marriages, and from hard lessons I’ve learned myself along the way.

Let’s get into some of the unwritten rules that can seriously save your relationship (and your sanity) if you keep them close.

1. Handle Disagreements in Private 🤐

Minor argument? Personal matter?
Take it home.
Going against your partner in public not only embarrasses them, it invites other people to disrespect them too.
Have their back in public — even when you’re mad — and save the deep dive for later, when it’s just you two.

2. Stay Open to Learning and Unlearning 📚

What you think you know about men, women, relationships… might not apply here.
Every relationship is different.
Be flexible enough to learn your partner — not just who they are, but who they are with you.
Be humble enough to unlearn habits that no longer serve you.

3. Never Water Down Their Excitement 🌟

You might not get why they’re hyped about some random hobby or show — but don’t kill their vibe.
Nothing makes someone feel unsafe faster than having their joy belittled.
Protect the light in your partner. Even if it’s about collecting vintage coins or mastering weird TikTok dances.

4. Stay Where Your Feet Are 👣

No matter how mad you get, don’t go seeking attention somewhere else.
Temporary attention leads to permanent regrets.
Handle your problems with the person you chose — because that’s your person.
Nobody out there is worth jeopardizing your real connection over a bad mood.

5. Keep It in the House 🏠

Keep your relationship business between you two.
That includes your mama, your cousin, and your group chat.
(Telling my mama and my sisters were the hardest one for me too — my mom’s my bestie, but I’ve got a sister that holds grudges like it’s a sport 😂.)
Important: If there’s abuse involved, this rule does not apply. Always seek help.

6. Stay Locked In 🔒

Once you find your person — really find them — stay loyal.
Don’t let the illusion of “options” or “the grass might be greener” games fool you.
Loyalty isn’t just about not cheating — it’s about keeping your heart, your mind, and your energy committed.

Woman to Woman, Remember Queen: 👑

Love isn’t perfect, but loyalty, respect, and effort make all the difference.
Protect your relationship like you protect your peace — and choose your person every single day.
